Wheelchair accessible vehicles

Please also take a look at our range of drive from wheelchair vehicles. We are the only convertor on the market offering customers a choice between five drive from wheelchair vehicles. Vehicles include: Citroen Berlingo Duo (rear access, entry by ramp), VW Caravelle Nevada (rear access, entry by ramp), VW Caravelle Colorado (rear access, entry by lift), VW Caravelle Monterey 6 (rear access, entry by ramp) and VW Caravelle Vermont (rear access, entry by lift).

GM Coachwork Ltd has the capabilities and facilities to undertake a range of mobility adaptations. From our purpose built facilities based in the South West of England we can take on a range of mobility adaptation projects. From simple steering wheel balls to complete drive-by wire solutions, we have the skills and experience to meet your needs. We use top quality equipment and carry out modifications to the highest of standards to ensure that life behind the wheel couldn’t be easier. Minibus

We provide minibus conversions to suit specific customer requirements. We supply a range of minibuses including: Ford Transit, Mercedes Sprinter, Peugeot Boxer/ Fiat Ducato, Peugeot Expert, Renault Master, Volkswagen Crafter, Renault Trafic/ VauxVivaro, VW Caravelle/ Transporter and GM MinibusLite. Our conversions are fully customised to meet the needs of the client. Once the base vehicle has been chosen, customers can choose from a range of conversion options such as seats, doors, lifts, ramps, wheelchair equipment, heating and ventilation, steps or interior luggage racks.

Car hire

Please contact our friendly team at GM Coachwork Ltd to find out more about our vehicles available for hire. We offer a range of wheelchair accessible vehicles and accessible minibuses for hire for a minimum of three days upwards. All of our vehicles are fully inspected and valeted before going out on hire.

• Group A – Compact WAV: Renault Kangoo, Fiat Doblo and Citroen Berlingo.
• Group B – Mid-sized WAV or Drive-from: Peugeot Expert Flare, Peugeot Expert Montana  and VW Caravelle Drive From.
• Group C – Large WAV: Peugeot Expert Flare, Peugeot Expert Montana, and VW Caravelle Drive From.
   

Motability

The Motability scheme is offered to customers who receive the Higher Rate Mobility Component of the Disability Living Allowance. Customers can simply turn their allowance into the wheelchair accessible vehicle car of their choice. 95% of Mobility customers choose Mobility Contract Hire. This option features: a new WAV of your choice every five years, insurance and personal accident cover, annual tax discs, servicing and maintenance, full breakdown assistance from RAC, tyre and windscreen replacement, 20,000 miles mileage allowance per year, and adaptations. All vehicles undergo stringent testing for safety by the Specialist Transport Advisory and Testing Utility Society (STATUS).
