Acrylics

For boat windows, hatches, stowage, POS displays, leaflet holders, machine guards and museum display cases, we use only the best acrylic plastics, plastic glass, Perspex and Plexiglas. Acrylic plastic is half the weight of glass, is more resistant to impact, is not affected by salt or spray (which is why we use it for boat hatches and windows) and has a temperature range of -40 degrees C to +50 degrees C.

POLYCARBONATE & P.E.T.G

Polycarbonate is easily machined, formed, glued and welded, and is a very robust plastic with good clarity. Ideal for self-supporting structures like machine guards, polycarbonate has a high impact resistance, is stable, tough, versatile, and protects from breakage and intrusion. It can be fabricated to produce a variety of products and forms, including Polycarbonate Labels, Polycarbonate Tubing, Polycarbonate Nameplates, Polycarbonate Rods, Polycarbonate Coatings, Polycarbonate Film, polycarbonate Panels, Polycarbonate Capsules, Polycarbonate Balls, Polycarbonate Lenses - also Polycarbonate Capacitors & Gaskets.

PVC & POLYPROPYLENE

We use polypropylene in situations where high chemical resistance, low specific gravity, low friction, self lubrication, and resistance to abrasion and moisture are requisite characteristics, such as in the production of tanks, cabinets, scrubbers and vessels. Polypropylene is also often made into film, bags, washers, pipe, webbing, fittings, rods, packaging, tape, strapping, tubing, rope, tanks and gaskets. We employ line bending, machining, drilling and welding techniques to produce customised components that satisfy the application requirements of each individual customer.

Polypropylene is predominately used by Alda for the fabrication of water-tight tanks for the chemical plant industry and ducting for clean air systems.

Bespoke Plastic Fabrication

Alda Plastics specialise in the manufacture of bespoke plastic components. Drawing upon almost 70 years of combined knowledge and experience, we’re able to offer a first class service that’s fast, efficient, and cost-effective. We use a number machining, bending, gluing and welding techniques to fabricate in exact accordance with our customers’ designs, using high quality plastic mAP[aterials such as Perspex, polycarbonates, PETG, PVC and polypropylene. Whether it’s a one-off or high volume production, we offer competitive prices and a realistic turnaround. Components can be delivered throughout the British Isles and Europe.

Machine Guards

It is a legal requirement for factories and food processing plants to erect robust guards around production line machinery, in order to properly protect employees. Here at Alda Plastics, we use an innovative production using polycarbonate to create a robust guard with great levels of visibility, as well as strength, both vital safety aspects. Although we have a core focus on using key components for all our guards, our team have the knowledge and experience to tailor and create individual solutions that meet the individual specifications of each customer.

Display Cases

We pride ourselves on manufacturing high-quality plastic and perspex museum display cases, allowing our clients present individual artifacts or historical items in the best possible light. We manufacture two types of display case: our museum standard model is a five sided case with visably glued joints, and we also produce a quicker, bent version of this. Both are produced in acrylic to a exceptional standard and dispite the title, our cases are not only suited to museum pieces but also provide great solutions for displaying sports medals or memorabilia in the home.
