KSM stocks most types of stainless steel strip in thicknesses ranging from 0.025mm to 3.00mm and widths ranging from 1.0mm to 1000mm. In addition to standard parts, our in-house processing facilities enable us to produce stainless steel strip as pancake coils, traverse wound coils, flat blanks, sheets, and strips cut to any length required.
Specialised parts include temper rolled strip, hard rolled strip and soft steel strip.

Nickel strip and nickel-based alloy strip is able to withstand a range of severe operating conditions, making it extremely important to many modern industries. It is highly resistant to corrosion and can endure high temperatures, high stresses, and various combinations of these factors. KSM stocks both commercially pure nickel strip (which benefits from high thermal conductivity, low electrical resistivity, excellent corrosion resistance and strong magnetic properties) and specialised nickel alloy strip (which can be heat treated for specialised magnetic characteristics, improved chemical resistance and enhanced mechanical properties).
You can find out more about the features and benefits of nickel strip by following the link to the KSM website.

Plain carbon steel strip is inherently strong, easy to fabricate, and can be finished to meet the needs of a wide variety of products. KSM stocks two varieties of carbon steel strip:
- Low Carbon (Mild) Steel Strip (BS EN 10139) - products within this category have less than 0.2% carbon content and can generally only be hardened by cold working. However, some low carbon mild steel strip may be case hardened for a harder surface.
- High Carbon (Spring) Steel Strip (BS EN 10132-4) - products within this category have more than 0.2% carbon content and can be annealed and rolled for hardening after forming or blanking. Mill hardened and tempered metal strip is also available.

KSM offers a range of pure copper and beryllium copper alloy products which are used extensively in the electronics industry. Copper benefits from outstanding electrical and thermal conductivity and may be fabricated, joined or processed using a variety of techniques to produce many types of metal strip.
Pure Copper - high purity copper strip is low in strength and hardness but has extremely high electrical and thermal conductivity. It may be strengthened to a limited extent using cold working or temper rolling processes. Pure copper strip is available as oxygen bearing 'tough pitch' strip, deoxidised copper strip, oxygen free copper strip and doped copper strip.
Beryllium Copper - Beryllium copper alloy strip is high in strength and may be heat treated for enhanced electrical conductivity (between 20-60% IACS) and improved tensile strength (between 500-1300 N/mm²).

Titanium strip is used extensively in the aerospace, energy and chemical industries because of its high strength-to-weight ratio and high melting point. It is often used for demanding applications such as static and rotating gas turbine engine components, as well as critical applications such as civilian and military airframe parts. Commercially pure titanium strip benefits from exceptional corrosion resistance, which makes it suited for a variety of applications within the chemical process industry.

KSM are pleased to offer a wide range of plated strip in mild steel, stainless steel, brass and copper. Stocked parts include brass, copper, chrome and nickel plated strip ideal for a variety of decorative, household and industrial applications - these may be supplied slit to width in coil form or in cut lengths, with either polythene coating or paper interleaving for surface protection.
All parts are tested for heat, corrosion and humidity resistance to ensure a top class product and complete peace of mind for our customers. A range of popular finishes are available, including brushed brass and satin brushed chrome. Brass and copper plated strip is supplied with a clear lacquered finish which prevents tarnishing. Samples are available upon request.

KSM is able to draw upon over 70 years of experience and expertise to produce bespoke strip metal components that consistently meet and exceed the high standards demanded by our customers. All processing is undertaken by skilled and experienced engineers at any one of our three UK and European manufacturing facilities. Processing capabilities include:
- Shearing - KSM is able offer metal strip slitting and shearing down to width:thickness ratios of 3:1 thanks to custom technology that has been developed in-house.
- Cut-to-Length - metal strip blanks may be cut to lengths of up to 6 metres with widths of up to 1000mm.
- Edge Profiling - we use bespoke tungsten carbide tooling to meet the most demanding custom edge requirements.
- Recoiling - KSM are able to re-coil metal strip into a range of formats, including pancake coils, traverse wound spools, open sided oscillate wound coils, low weight coils and coils on cardboard centres.

KSM has long established relationships with a number of customers in the photo etching industry. Photo etchers have always demanded strip metal products of the very highest quality, and we have always been able to meet those demands. We offer a range of tension levelled or tension annealed materials for minimum distortion during the etching process.

At KSM we have made it a priority to satisfy the unique requirements of laser stencil manufacturers. The evolving and increasingly exacting demands of the surface mount industry have led to the development of a stainless steel wide strip (ST304LD) with properties that are specially intended for the application. ST304LD benefits from a very fine grain, a smooth surface (ideal for printing), low distortion (which permits step etching for manufacturing multi-level stencils), good flatness and high strength. It has a hardness of approximately 360 VPN and a tensile strength around 1200 N/mm², making it extremely durable. ST304LD is supplied in a range of thicknesses from 0.10mm to 0.30mm. Standard width for all parts is 610mm.
