About the AEP
The Association's job is to promote their interests. It does this through discussion with the government and regulators, and by invoking itself in the internal debates of the electricity industry.
The legal status of the Association is that of a company limited by guarantee. It has a board of directors which is representative of a wide range of interests in the Association and is appointed by the membership at the Annual General Meeting. The Association is financed by members' subscriptions, which vary according to the size of the company. Voting, however, is on the basis of "one member, one vote".
