CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES ASSOCIATION
WHAT IS THE CIA?
The Chemical Industries Association is the UK chemical industry's leading trade and employer organisation and embraces all the industry's trade sectors, product types and business activities. Based in central London, the Association employs 67 experienced and professionally qualified staff headed by the Director General. Policies are formulated by specialist boards and committees under the leadership of a council which decides the overall framework, strategy and priorities. Careful attention is paid to the composition of these committees in order to ensure proper representation amongst a membership which is very diverse in size, location and product base.
THE CIA'S MISSION STATEMENT IS:
To help members secure sustainable profitability and improve recognition of their contribution to society, by working with them to influence relevant people and policies and by stimulating and helping them towards appropriate internal action, singly or co-operatively.
COMMITTEES

SECTOR GROUPS
Sector groups are self-funded groups within the Association which ensure that the needs of specific sectors of the industry are represented and addressed. They provide a sharp focus for activities and the management of issues which affect one part of the industry more than others. They are also an important source of specialist advice and a channel for image-building and the two-way flow of information
