At Advanced Battery Care (ABC) Ltd, we have always aimed to provide the most effective battery testing methods. In 1994, we developed an industry standard setting impedance tester that has been used by many battery maintenance teams since. Today, ABC continues to provide the most technologically advanced battery testing solutions in the industry.

We use state-of-the-art equipment to offer a sophisticated, efficient, and effective battery monitoring programme. In fact, ABC's engineers maintain around 2000 telecommunications and UPS batteries located across the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland.

Batteries

Advanced Battery Care Ltd specialise in the supply of large standby battery systems (20 monoblocs minimum) and high capacity VRLA batteries. Sourced from industry recognised manufacturers (including Enersys, Exide, Yuasa, Power and WING), these are available from us at unbelievably competitive prices. We’ll also engineer complete systems to include the provision of cladded or open racks, battery isolators, isolating transition boxes, fixed battery monitors and all relevant cabling.

Battery Maintenance

Statistics suggest that over 80% of UPS failures come as a direct result of battery faults and failures. It is therefore imperative that your battery supplies are regularly maintained to a high standard in order reduce the chances of costly and embarrassing computer downtime. Advanced Battery Care are able to offer two levels of maintenance: standard and premium. Our standard package includes a site visit every six months to carefully test and inspect each battery cell or monobloc and to provide a report on the overall battery condition. Upon discovery of a faulty cell, our highly trained engineers can recommend the correct course of remedial action. Our premium package is a preventative maintenance schedule that reports on failing cells before they compromise the integrity of the system.

Installation and Disposal

Over the last two decades, Advanced Battery Care Ltd has installed batteries of all types and sizes, from a single 12 volt 7AH monobloc in a small UPS system to over a thousand 160AH monoblocs for data centre UPS systems. We currently install around ten battery systems every week, and in the majority of cases this means replacing an existing system that has come to the end of its working life. With ABC, you can be assured that your scrap battery systems are being disposed of in accordance with the applicable Environmental Regulations.

Battery Monitoring and Test Equipment

We offer a wide range of battery testing equipment which is suitable for lead-acid standby batteries typically used in UPS, telecommunications, security, emergency lighting, generator start, fire alarms and other applications. We supply the portable BitBox Model 5, a well proven piece of equipment that has been used by maintenance teams for over 10 years. Simple yet effective, the BitBox Model 5 allows you to easily assess the condition of VRLA batteries used in strings. ABC also supplies two kinds of fixed battery monitoring equipment; the Powershield Sentinel for constant monitoring of battery condition in UPS and telecommunication systems, and the Jacarta Interceptor, an advanced Ethernet computer and battery room monitoring system that assesses threats to the stability of environmental conditions and signals an alarm in the event of an irregularity.
