Medica Packaging Limited, based in the UK, is a market leader of quality folding cartons and Patient Information Leaflets supplied to the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries.
Formed in the 1920's, the company became part of a large pharmaceutical group in 1966, but still remained an autonomous business.
In the late 1980's, Medica began a process of specialisation when it moved into the production of packaging materials exclusively supplying the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries.
The opportunity arose in 1993 to take the business into private ownership through a management buy-out, led by the current Managing Director, John Beardmore.
Since the MBO, sales turnover has doubled, with the company boasting an estimated 10 per cent market share of the UK pharmaceutical and healthcare folding carton market.
