The company was founded in 1963 for the design manufacture and development of desiccators desiccant bags humidity indicators protection barriers pressure relief valves and a range of dry gas purge systems to prevent moisture and atmospheric related problems in electronic optic packaging containers and many other commercial and military applications. The Brownell range of products has been developed to include a series of moisture and atmospheric protection solutions for instruments commercial products and packaging containers. Brownell holds ISO9001/2008 design approval and are members of the Defence Manufactures Association.
