Only the very best components are used in such a critical industry as defence. For over 30 years, we have been supplying the MoD and private defence companies around the world with rubber and rubber fabrications in accordance with relevant defence standards, including NRQX.
Our service goes beyond the manufacturing stage to include design, prototyping, production and final assembly. Many of the staff members at Butser (including the MD) come from a military background,
which gives us a better understanding of what's required for the end application.

Back in 1979, just a year after the company was formed, Butser produced its first rubber component for a Formula One racing car. Since then, we have never looked back! Today, Butser supplies components, sealing, anti-vibration and flexible solutions for all of the Formula One teams, and we also build key components for cars competing in the World Rally Championships, the British GT Series, the Le Mans 24 Hour Race, Formula Nippon, and many other motorsport competitions.

Whatever the requirements of your application, Butser can design, develop and manufacture rubber mouldings that are perfect for the job. We currently produce over 4300 different product lines, so taking on your project is unlikely to stretch us, no matter how complex it is. Last year, we invested heavily in vacuum technologies - these should help drive Butser towards its 'zero internal defects' goal, minimising waste and thereby lowering production costs. We can now pass on these savings to our customers.

Butser is able to manufacture custom O-rings and non-standard O-rings in line with your specifications, with a cross section down to 0.5 mm and a tolerance of 0.02 mm (depending on material). These are available in a range of colours, materials and shore hardnesses. Where the seal is critical to performance, we use our in-house cryogenic trimming facilities and a network of laser welding and tool polishing machines for seamless O-ring sections.
