Company Description
Essex based, Assemtech Europe Limited, forms part of the Comus® International Group which was founded in June, 1978, and specialises in the manufacture and supply of solid state relays, reed switches and reed relays as well as shock and acceleration switches, tilt and tip over switches, movement and vibration sensing switches, proximity switches, magnets, float switches, silicone rubber keyboards, and more. With a range of more than 800 standard products, Assemtech Europe Ltd supplies companies around the world with its high quality products. These products can be found in a number of day to day equipment such as cars, meters, washing machines, as well as various other types of industrial and domestic equipment. We are dedicated to designing products that meet various application demands. Attention to detail is paramount in order for us to continue supplying customers with high quality products. We also provide customers with excellent customer service so that they can rely on us for all the information they may need before, during and after sales. It is important that our customers are happy with their products and services and we appreciate feedback so that we can develop our services to ensure our customers' needs are met.

Reed Switches

These electrical switches are operated by an applied magnetic field which is generated by either a permanent magnet of a current-carrying coil. Our reed switches feature two ferromagnetic contact blades that are positioned in a hermetically sealed glass tube. They are available in either form A, form B, or form C. Form A is normally open, form B is normally closed, and form C is changeover. Reed switches are commonly used for applications such as reed relays, automotive sensors, robotic sensors, security sensors and toys and games. These light weight, compact switches are beneficial to many users.

Reed Switches - Form A / C - Wetted Contact

Our mercury-wetted reed switches feature a glass-encapsulated reed with the base immersed in mercury and the other end capable of moving between contacts. Mercury-wetted relays are durable and have good load carrying capacity. They are commonly used for applications found in computers, business machines, machine tool control systems and laboratory instruments. Please visit our website for detailed specifications of our wetted-contact reed switches. Here you can find out various types of information such as the switching capacity, switching voltage, switching current, glass length, diameter, and contact form.

High Breakdown Switches

Our range of high breakdown switches has been carefully designed to provide customers with excellent switch solutions. Our high breakdown switches are capable of handling high voltage applications and are supplied at competitive prices. They are commonly used for applications such as in the pharmaceutical industry where high reliability is essential for the function of many applications. Please contact us for samples, information and prices of our range. We also provide customers with advice on the suitability of our switches to given applications so that you can be sure to purchase the best switch for the job.

Reed Relays

Reed relays use an electromagnet to control one or more reed switches. They are housed in surroundings where the contacts are protected from corrosion. The housing can be made from either plastic, metal or can be moulded. Moving parts of reed relays are small and lightweight and they tend to have a faster response time and lower coil consumption than electro-mechanical relays. Please visit our website to find out more about our ranges of reed relays suitable for different applications.

Tilt /Tip-Over Switches

Our tilt and tip-over switches are supplied as mercury metal or as our patented non-mercury metal. These switches are used to sense movement of a device. Tilt switches sense movement above and below a horizontal axis whereas tip-over switches sense tilt over 360degrees of a vertical axis. All switches are evacuated and filled with inert gas. They are then hermetically sealed to ensure long life and low contact resistance. All of our switches are manufactured to the highest standards and accuracy for the best possible results.

Electronic Angle & G-force Senso

We provide customers with a range of electronic sensors to suit different applications. These microprocessor controlled sensors respond accurately to angle, acceleration and G-force to provide effective results. Our electronic angle and G-force sensors are used in a large number of industry applications such as for positioning medical and engineering equipment, vehicle levelling, closed loop controls systems, and alarm control systems. Items within our standard range can be adapted to suit specific requirements. Please visit our website for further information or contact us at Assemtech for advice, prices and orders.

Motion / Vibration Sensors

Motion sensors are of a similar design to tilt switches and in some cases tilt switches are used as motion sensors. Motion sensors function by changing state from open or closed position when in motion and remain in that state until the motion stops. They are commonly used for applications such as anti-theft devices, man-down alarms, advanced appliances and portable equipment. Please visit our website to view specifications of our various movement and vibration sensors. We provide non-mercury and mercury ranges for movement and vibration sensors and switches.

Acceleration and Shock Switches

Comus International is a leading manufacturer of acceleration and shock switches and supplies customers with a large selection to suit the requirements of different applications. Please visit our website to view images of our range as well as detailed technical information such as contact form, switching voltage, switching current, switching capacity, activation level, contact resistance, electrode diameter, electrode spacing, and more. Please contact our sales engineers for information regarding our products and they will assist you in choosing the best component for your application.
