One of the problems that has always faced Microbiological testing is how to maintain and store stock cultures to ensure purity of bacterial strains, whether it be for quality control purposes, for research, or for clinical testing.
Abtek are proud to be able to offer VIABANK for the long-term storage of micro-organisms at low temperatures.
An organism from your fresh, pure cultures should be used to make a heavy inoculum. You then place this in one of the vials ensuring all the beads are coated and then it can be stored it in a suitable freezer.
VIABANK are supplied in boxes of 80 vials which conveniently stack in freezer racks. Each vial contains at least 25 glass beads.
The vials are available in four different colours for ease of organisation of your micro-organisms
