Mark 5 Limited is a distributor of Far Eastern, North American and European semiconductors, specialising in discrete components such as IGBT power modules, transistors, thyristors and FETs. Based just outside Portsmouth on the south coast of England, Mark 5 Ltd was formed in 1993 by an ex-Purchasing Manager who, having been in the industry since 1963, recognised the need for an independent distributor who could supply obsolete and non-supported semiconductors without a large minimum order requirement. Mark 5''s inventory, which has been built up over the years to 500,000 components along 20,000 stock lines, consists of diodes, transistors, FETs, thyristors, IGBTs, microprocessors, memory products, logic ICs (both TTL and CMOS) and opto products, and is supported by a vast database of almost every component ever produced. In addition to Mark 5''s huge stock of components, the company is able to source devices from all over the world using its close relations with a vast number of international suppliers. Mark 5''s customer base varies from service departments who require small quantities of components immediately to major manufacturers who require an ongoing supply of one or two discrete components on an allocation or schedule basis.
