The initial
stimulus came from the considerable experience gained during time spent working
with the NHS in the field of manual and patient handling by Hospital Direct Ltd.
This experience has made ETD
able to provide safety training wherever it is needed from
schools to manufacturing, healthcare to retail.
Available Courses:
Manual handling is defined as the 'transporting or supporting of a load by hand or by bodily force'. Because of the amount of manual handling that takes place in peoples’ everyday lives, it is no surprise that more than a third of all workplace injuries result from these activities.
- Basic Fire Safety Training
This training course focuses on Fire prevention and Risk assessment. It will also give the student sufficient knowledge in using fire fighting equipment, evacuation procedures, and the importance of limiting false fire alarms in the workplace.
- Display Screen Equipment (DSE)
The Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations came into force in 1993 and states all employers must provide suitable health & safety information on DSE and workstation safety.
Employees are classed as a DSE users if they use DSE for 2 hours a day or if using DSE is integral to the job.
