We are a leading supplier to one of the UK's largest manufacturers of care and
security systems for the elderly. We have been working with them since 2005,
creating design solutions for a range of their products. Services utilised:

We use a cost-effective hybrid combination to create many designs for consumer
electronics.This is a solution we first developed several years ago for Pace. It
consists of a progression formed sheet metal chassis with a plastic front panel
moulding.
Through the years we have optimised the mechanical engineering of this
combination to suit individual applications. The sheet metal chassis can be
formed with details for component assembly or fan outlets. The plastic moulding
can include a pre-assembled printed circuit board or moulded connections for
engaging main PCB switches.
Chinese product manufacturing was the logical next step for TQ since it combines
our UK product design consultant, UK mechanical engineering, Chinese electronic
product design, Chinese injection mould toolmaking and Chinese product
manufacturing expertise into one best-value package with a single entity for the

TQ-designed consumer electronic products have appeared in the retail market
under a variety of quality name brands including Bush, Daewoo, Ferguson and
Humax, to name a few.
Our latest DVB/PVR set top box is the innovative GiGo personal video recorder.
Instead of using an internal hard drive for storage, we custom designed and
developed high quality external USB memory sticks that are specially made for
the handling of compressed video.

We worked closely with our client, one of Chrysler's first-tier suppliers in the
USA, as product design consultants for the styling and engineering of the
"Starmobile" in-car diagnostics instrument. Following approval of a prototype,
TQ China manufactured production tooling and moulds for the ABS, PVC and
Polycarbonate components.
The complex parts finishing process begins with extensive masking on internal
surfaces in preparation for the spray application of Electrodag RFI shielding
coating, so we manufacture the enclosure sets in China, then ship them to
Boston, Massachusetts USA.
By vertically integrating the entire process of conceptual design,
electro-mechanical engineering, component and assembly design for manufacture,
electronics hardware and software design, toolmaking and finally complete
product manufacturing through a single source we truly provide a one-stop

Our client, a leading supplier of an electrical product range to the
construction industry, needed a plastic casing of superior quality, with added
functionality for easy installation and setup for a new PIR product range. The
design would need to function as a casing for two products; one a light-level
sensor and the other an occupancy detector, both of which would trigger lighting
changes according to pre-determined parameters.
Our engineers worked very closely with the client to create and engineer a
casing product that can be cost-effectively manufactured in batches as required,
with zero returns thanks to our stringent Chinese quality control procedures.

Our expertise and creative approach to industrial design and mechanical design
enables us to bring solutions to specialist areas such as light fittings, in
which reliable heat transfer and dissipation are vital.
We design and manufacture a range of components and sub-assemblies for products
including dimmable halogen reading lights for one of our Buckinghamshire
clients. We are working in partnership with our client on a long-term programme
to design and develop a new LED lighting range.
Products we have designed and developed; Dect phones, IP phones, USB phones,
video phones, video intercom phones, routers, laser printers, set-top DVB boxes,
DVR digital recorders, portable blood sampler, patient monitor, de-fibrilator
,geiger counter, pat tester, eco heat saving products, satelite receivers, HDD
products, rfid products, bar scanners, finger-print entry system, educational
products, beauty products and many more.

Our brief was to create a new suite of tools for making parts that would be
interchangeable between existing and new tools. In order to accomplish this, we
needed to first generate 3D models from a combination of two data sources:
original 2D drawings without drafts and the existing plastic parts which did not
conform to the original data. This required reverse-engineering and reconciling
the data sources and producing mechanical 3D data. Finally, we manufactured
multi-impression injection mould tooling for production.
Q provides a full European standard toolmaking service using our associate
Chinese injection toolmakers. We make export tools for the UK and Europe;
because we have a UK office and UK toolmaking partner we can deliver the tooling
quality that export markets expect.
Standard tools are made for component manufacture as part of a TQ design /
tooling / manufacturing project. This applies to aluminium die castings,
compression tooling for thermoset material, sheet steel progression formings and
other parts made by various processes in a variety of materials as well as
injection moulds made for plastic.
