National Mining Company LLC (NMC), a subsidiary of MB Holidng Company LLC, was established in 1997 with the mission to explore opportunities in mining in the Sultanate of Oman. NMC is the first private sector mining company in the Sultanate of Oman and is currently implementing a peroject for development of mining and processing copper and gold deposits in the highly ptospective Sohar region at Hatta and Shinas in Northern Oman.
After several years of extensive exploration work, NMC discovered comemrcial resources and a detailed feasibility study reffirmed the geological resources and the commercial viability of the project. NMC then decided to implement the project and commercial production commenced in the first quarter of 2007.
