non-ferrous scrap metal. We offer a comprehensive

How scrap is processed
Scrap metal originates just as frequently between businesses and homes as well.
The proper disposal and recycling of scrap metal is typically done by a business or service.
Scrap is often taken to a wrecking yard (also known as a scrapyard, junkyard, or breaker's yard), where it is processed for later melting into new products.
A wrecking yard, depending on its location, may allow customers to browse their lot and purchase items before they are sent to the smelters although many scrap yards that deal in large quantities of scrap usually do not, often selling entire units such as engines or machinery by weight with no regard to their functional status.

Ferrous scrap metal is metal that does stick to a magnet.
Heavy melt is a type of ferrous metal and includes products such as piping.
Plate and structural steel, another type of ferrous scrap, includes metal I-beams that are used in buildings.
Ferrous scrap is usually purchased one of two ways: prepared or unprepared.
Prepared ferrous steel means that the scrap is already cut to certain specifications as required by the scrap company.
Many companies require that prepared scrap be five foot by two foot or less, but it is best to check with the scrap recycler before bringing in the scrap as they may have a different qualification.

Non
ferrous scrap metal is the type of metal that does not stick to a magnet. Its scrap value is higher than ferrous scrap because it is worth more on the market.
Examples of non ferrous scrap metal include copper, aluminium, non-magnetic stainless steel, brass and bronze.
There are different types of copper, including #1 copper and #2 copper.
There are also numerous types of
aluminium, including siding, gutters, extruded (such as window frames), and ingot.
Brass can also be yellow brass, red brass or mixed brass.
