The Medicentre is located on the University Hospital of Wales Campus in the northern suburbs of the City and is easily accessible by air, rail and motorway. The Campus extends across 53 acres and provides a working base for over 4,000 people.
The Medicentre, which sets out to bring the innovative and practical application of medical research efficiently to the market-place, was the first of its kind in the United Kingdom. The two-storey building is set in landscaped grounds and has dedicated car parking. Built to a high specification and designed with a central atrium as an internal ‘street’ with units ranging from 284 sq ft to 1,045 sq ft, self contained and may be leased individually or in combination, generally to a maximum of 3,000 sq ft. Grant Aid may be available towards adaptation, fitting out and equipment costs. New start and growing enterprises in the medical, health care and pharmaceutical sectors will be able to take advantage of the major facilities and wealth of expertise of the Universities, and access to the joint academic network.
