Star Micronics GB is a wholly owned subsidiary of machine tool manufacturer, Star Micronics Co Ltd, Japan, which produces CNC sliding-head lathes. The GB subsidiary is also sole agent in the UK and Eire for the FMB range of short and full-length bar magazines from Germany, as well as for JBS compensating guide bush systems.
Customers are to be found throughout manufacturing industry, both in the OEM and subcontract sectors. The company works closely with other equipment and service suppliers to source for customers the best tooling, oil mist extraction systems, fire extinguishers, cutting oils, swarf conveyors and machine tool finance packages on the market. Star is a member of the MTA and a technical member of the BTMA.
For existing and potential users of Swiss-type automatics that cannot justify investment in new equipment, Star offers reconditioned machines, complete with warranty, that have been taken back from customers in part exchange and restored to their original condition. In this way, a high specification turning facility may be purchased at a competitive price.
