Biotecture Ltd is a new company set up to service the emerging need to find sustainable solutions to lowering the carbon/ecological footprint of the built environment. This involves the use of green facades for buildings, vertical greening or living walls. The benefits of green walling are many and include reducing thermal loading on buildings (saving energy) water and air filtration (cleaning greywater, reducing heat island effect), stormwater attenuation (less water down the drains), ecological benefits (increased urban wildlife) and social benefits (improving the urban environment).
