Sonistics co-ordinated a UK Industry Cocktail Reception as part of SMERWG 05 and, due to the success of this event, we extended the contractor list to include other nations. The Industry Cocktail Reception is now an acknowledged item on the SMERWG Agenda. This event works because it gives procurement officers the opportunity of discussing new and existing products with the suppliers and it provides a platform for contractors to launch new concepts and products and introduce unknown buyers to tried and tested services and equipment. 32 nations attended SMERWG 07 and, once again, the Industry Cocktail Reception proved a worthwhile event for delegates and contractors alike. To maintain the intimate atmosphere with this event, the number of contractors presenting is capped at 16.
