MIM is a manufacturing process that involves manipulating metal to behave like a plastic by mixing metal powders with a polymer binder system to form a feedstock suitable for injection moulding net shaped, precision components.
MIM enhances product quality, reduces lead times and gives rise to significant cost savings, helping to retain manufacturing work locally that otherwise may have been exported to the Far East.
Egide have been producing MIM components for over 9 years, their Senior Engineers have been developing MIM for over 20 years. This level experience has enabled them to become technical leaders.
All aspects of manufacturing are carried out in house, from tooling, to feedstock compounding, through to the sintered part. This tight control allows them to regulate the consistency and dimensional repeatability of the parts enabling them to supply parts of unrivalled quality.
