Garments Direct Ltd was incorporated as a limited company in 1989 by the Winstanley family.
Based on the outskirts of Wigan, Lancashire, we operate from a single location, with over 14,000 sq ft production area, with mezzanine floors and home grown racking solutions.
Garments Direct take pride in our products by using only the best of available materials; ie laundry approved fabrics such as Northenden Textiles, Carringtons and Klopman. We also use as standard; YKK solid brass zips, Oxleys thread, Prym/Schaeffer studs and fasteners.
All our stock of 50,000 polycotton garments, are made from fabric supplied from one mill, to ensure colour and consistency, regardless of the weight of the cloth: ie 6oz (195 gsm), 7oz (245 gsm) and 9oz (300 gsm).
We also manufacture bespoke garments from customers own unique design and fabric requirements. So the next time somebody asks you for a "pink boilersuit with yellow collars" give us a call!
Garments Direct is a forward thinking company, continually investing in new technology, plant and machinery. Even though manufacturing in the UK is not seen as popular anymore, we still believe that there is a real need for these skills in the UK, to ensure quality and efficiency.
