Our MEC@Fire range of fire protection systems is available in 24DC or 240VAC. These electromagnetic door holders have been designed for effective fire protection. They are fitted with a spring loaded device which is designed to eliminate the residual magnetism. Door holders are commonly linked to automatic fire systems that will release the door by switching the power off, however, as an alternative the door can be manually operated via a release button. Electromagnetic shotbolts are used for applications where doors or guards need to be locked in place. Our range of electromagnetic shotbolts is manufactured with a solenoid that operates the bolt by locking or unlocking the return spring. Various models are also fitted with position detectors which also include positively forced open contacts and are mechanically actuated in the positive mode. Our shotbolts are fire protection rated and are designed and manufactured to be sturdy and long-lasting.

Our latching solenoids feature a combination of the electromagnetic solenoid and permanent magnets. To hold the solenoid closed, an electrical pulse is applied to a solenoid coil and when the pulse stops, the internal permanent magnets hold the solenoid in its closed position. An electrical pulse of opposite polarity is applied to the circuit to reverse the solenoid position. Please view our range of DC latching solenoids online. DC latching solenoids provide excellent solutions for many applications, however there is a limit to the amount of power that can be applied and conventional solenoids may be a better solution.
