Flowcheck specialise in providing flow measurement and hydraulic surveying
services specifically tailored towards the water and waste water industry.
Our experience embraces projects of all sizes at sites throughout the UK, ranging from full hydraulic surveys of water utility treatment works, down to individual
flowmeter surveys for companies in the private sector.

The services we offer fall into four categories:
- Flowmeter & MCERTS Surveys
- Hydraulic surveys
- Data logging
- Hot tapping
Flowmeter &
MCERTS surveys
Our engineers perform detailed surveys of flow measurement devices to
determine whether they are functioning correctly and to their best accuracy.
Flowcheck services:
- Detailed surveys of flowmeter installations
- MCERTS certification of both open channel and closed pipe flowmeters
- Open channel flowmeter calibration calculations to BS3680
- Calibration and commissioning of flowmeters
- In situ verification of flowmeters by comparison to our own metering equipment
- Installation and hire of temporary flow metering equipment
- Flowmeter service contracts
Hydraulic surveys
Flowcheck specialise in performing surveys of pumps, pumping stations, pipe
systems and hydraulic processes. We install survey instrumentation to measure a
range of process variables e.g. Pressure, flow and level, to determine exactly
what is happening within a hydraulic system.
From measurements taken we can:
- Provide true pump performance and system curves
- Calculate Ks values
- Determine the combined performance of multiples of pumps
- Identify and locate blockages
- Measure and record conditions within a treatment process
- Diagnose and locate problems within pumped and gravity fed systems
- Ascertain if a rising main is capable of accommodating an increase in flow
rate
Data
logging
We supply and install data logging equipment for both
long term and short duration surveys. Whatever your data logging needs are, we
can supply the solution.
Typical applications for data loggers are:
-
Recording trend data on sites where no information exists
-
Capturing specific events e.g. flows during storm conditions
-
Logging instantaneous pressures along the length of a rising main in order to locate blockages
-
Recording at high speed to enable pressure surges to be captured
Under pressure
drilling
Under pressure drilling (hot tapping)
enables tapping points to be installed into pressurised pipes without the need
for isolation and without any disruption to the operation of the plant or the
process.
Typical applications for under pressure drilling:
