In today's digital age it is imperative that all your mission critical IT systems have a secure power backup. As well as offering comprehensive range of first class UPS systems, we also supply, install and maintain diesel generator sets.

These are a more economical option for when longer autonomy or back-up time is required: for as long a diesel is available, these generators will continue to provide the power, whereas UPS systems rely on expensive batteries alone. So whether you need a standalone or a UPS matched system, we have the installation experience to meet your exact requirements.

Tier 4 Power Solutions

The security of your critical systems is in safe hands with The Powerworks. Our Tier 4 Power Solutions offer maximum levels of reliability where constant power is simply imperative. Single points of failure are eliminated and redundancy [N+1] is built in.

We'll design and install both Tier 3 and Tier 4 power solutions that include redundant UPS systems, parallel generators, fail-safe switchgear and associated control systems.

Project Management

The Powerworks have the industry experience and technical know-how to manage the whole of your project from start to finish in a cost-effective, time-efficient manner. We employ our own highly-qualified experts and manufacture most of our own equipment, meaning we can offer our customers a fully integrated service, no matter the size of the project. By taking on all aspects of the project, our clients are spared the worry of dealing with complicated processes.

Our excellent service includes project planning using MS Project, detailed method statements, risk assessments, health and safety documentation, technical drawings, and technical documentation, including user manuals. Throughout the process, we'll schedule meetings with you to make sure your requirements are being met.

DC Systems & Inverters

The Powerworks are pleased to offer DC rectifier and inverter systems that have been custom modified from our range of standard modules. Firstly, our Optimus Rectifier Series, designed to supply small and medium power rates for telecommunications equipment, are available in 300W and 700W modules complete with battery and outgoing distribution breakers.

We also offer DC energy systems from the Salicru FAC P series of rectifiers. These are designed specifically to supply direct current to a wide variety of medium and high power equipment. With power rates of 1000W, 2000W, 2700W and 5000W, these can be connected in parallel and built into 19 inch cabinets with monitoring and management units, batteries, DC outgoing distribution, and load priority systems. Lastly, we offer the CS IS & CS Wave Series, ideal for industrial processes with critical loads.

Software Integration

Many power systems manufacturers will offer software packages to monitor the equipment that they produce. But unlike most of these, The Powerworks offer to install the software and provide operator training. Our solutions enable UPS, generator, LTM and environmental monitoring via a TCP/IP network. To secure your data from disaster, our software also allows controlled unattended shutdown of multiple servers and operating systems in the event of an emergency.

What's more, The Powerworks can remotely monitor the equipment on your site from our central monitoring station.

Electrical Installations

At The Powerworks, we have an expert team of NIC EIC approved electrical engineers who will undertake full installation of the equipment we supply.

They'll even introduce new supplies to the room and lay down underfloor distribution to your equipment racks in line with IEE 17th edition regulations.

Case Studies

Telco, a word-wide leader in international telecommunications, called upon the project team at The Powerworks when they needed housing for their major fibre-optic node in Western Europe. We were commissioned to develop backup systems for their critical services at one of Europe's leading Co-location sites, ensuring Tier 3 availability of power. Not only did we supply the necessary equipment, including a 80kVA PW-3 UPS, 100A PW-LTM static switch, and twin distribution panels with power monitoring and metering, but we also installed it, providing underfloor feeds to each cabinet and fully integrating the system with the site's BMS.

Cold Aisle Containment

Our cold aisle containment solutions have been expertly designed and created to increase the efficiency of the existing air conditioning system. Precise temperature control processes create significant energy saving results. The AC units feature mounted sensors in the cold aisle to achieve temperature control, clear roof panels and sliding access doors at both ends of the rack as well as lighting features.
