Air Leak Detection Equipment

Uson makes available air leak testing equipment in a variety of formats and with various operating modes, including pressure decay, differential flow, mass flow, pressure change, volume verification, seal creep testing and more. Our range covers most industry applications, but for more demanding applications we are able to produce custom leak testing pneumatic circuits. Products in this category include:

  • Qualitek 626 Pressure Decay Leaker Tester
  • Qualitek mR
  • Sprint iQ Leak Testers & Sprint LC Testers
  • Testra Low Cost Leak Testers
  • Vector Functional Tester & Vector Leak Tester

Air Flow Detection Equipment

Air flow or mass flow testing is a technique that uses flow measurement devices to analyse leak rates based on the rate of air flow through the device. This can be undertaken in small or large volumes and is typically applied to test gas meters, kitchen appliances, exhaust systems and other such products where gas or air flows through the component. Products in this category include:

  • Qualitek mR
  • Sprint LC
  • Sprint iQ Leak Detectors
  • Vector Functional Tester & Vector Leak Tester

Pressure Decay Testing Instruments

Pressure decay testing instruments are typically used for analysing components that have relatively small volumes. The subject of the test is pressurised with air while the pressure transducer monitors negative changes. A drop in pressure is indicative of a leak.

This technique is extremely fast and is therefore popular in high volume industries such as automotive component manufacture, casting, medical device production and consumer goods.

Products in this category include:

  • Qualitek mR
  • Sprint LC & Sprint iQ Leak Testers
  • Testra pD - Low Cost Leak Testers
  • Vector Leaker Testers & Vector Functional Testers

Differential Pressure Testers

Differential pressure testing is one of the fastest methods of leak testing and is suitable for a variety of applications. Similarly to pressure decay testing, this technique also involves measuring a drop in pressure inside the test subject. However, the differential pressure method differs in that the change in pressure is measured inside the part in comparison to the pressure inside a control volume charged to the same level.

We have a range of equipment covering the needs of the automotive, medical, pharmaceutical and general engineering industries, including:

  • Qualitek mR & Qualitek 626 Pressure Decay Leak Testers
  • Vector Leaker Testers & Vector Functional Testers

Functional Testing Equipment

Functional testing equipment is used to challenge the performance of an assembly against predefined performance criteria. It is a technique typically employed for testing valves, turbo chargers, thermostats, electric motors, electronic and mechanical control devices, faucets, showers, medical devices and many other components used across a range of industries. Many manufacturing and assembly organisations depend on functional testing techniques to improve product quality and to minimise production downtime.

To view our great range of functional test equipment, please head directly to the Uson website.

Trace Gas Leak Detectors

These devices use a trace gas - typically helium or sulphur hexafluoride - which is introduced into the test subject and then measured for leaks. These gases are made up of extremely small molecules that can leak from the very smallest gaps. Our excellent range of gas leak detectors are ideal for testing a wide range of military, industrial and laboratory products where the precise location of the leak must be indentified quickly.

Take a look at our Qualichek 196 portable gas leak detectors at www.uson.com.

Flexible Packaging

Flexible package testing is a non-destructive leak detection technique used to analyse the integrity of pouches and bags used in the food, pharmaceuticals, medical and cosmetic industries. Our range of flexible packaging testing devices includes:

  • Qualipak 710 & 720 Small Pouch Leak Testers
  • Qualipak 750 Bottle and Canister Leak Tester
  • Qualipak 780 Large Pouch Leak Tester

Custom Solutions

Over 40 years of experience in the industry means we’re well placed to offer customised solutions in line with your application requirements. In fact, our design engineers develop bespoke equipment on a very regular basis, drawing upon their own expertise and the requirements of the customer to deliver tailored solutions.

As well as manufacturing independent test panels, Uson is able to produce test beds for manual, semiautomatic or fully automatic testing of a wide range of components, parts and assemblies. If you have a specific requirement that you would like to discuss with our experts, just give us a call on 01284 760606.
