WEG Electric Motors (U.K.) Ltd, the UK branch was founded in June 1997 and commenced trading in August 1997, growing rapidly from 8,000 sq. feet to 50 sq. feet with an annual turnover in 2007 of 18m. The business exists to promote the sales of all WEG products, specifically rotating machines / electric motors, variable speed drives and soft starters to the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers) and to distributors who in turn re-sell products and services on. The ultimate aim of WEG is to become the preferred choice for "end users" blue chip manufacturing companies that require the services of electrical rotating machines as prime movers.
