For nearly 30 years Wyvern Media of Derby has been publishing weekly newspapers and more recently magazines. Most newspaper titles in the Wyvern Media stable are freely distributed but some titles like The Gazette and The Nottingham Journal are sold through retail outlets. It also publishes well established titles like The Greater London Chronicle and The Surrey and Hampshire Express.  Wyvern Media was established in 1984 in Derby. It now employs 250 people in 10 regional offices based throughout the UK and currently publishes 28 mainly weekly newspapers making it one of the UK's largest independent publishers. Its head office and administrative and production facility is based in Derby at its modern new home home in The Wyvern Business Park. It has further regional offices in Coventry, Rugby, Leamington Spa, Leicester, Nottingham, Slough, Weston Super Mare, Bristol, Gloucester and Taunton.
