Company Description
Our Pellet Testers are in use throughout the world. Some of them have been in operation since we produced the first ranges of Pellet Testers more than 25 years ago.

The quality, reliability and durability of our Pellet Testers, as well as their strength and flexibility, set our products apart from those of other manufacturers.

As part of the TekPro Limited group of companies, Holmen Wood are backed up by
TekPro's electro-mechanical engineering expertise and history of innovative design.

Wood Pellets

Manufactured from waste products from wood processing industries such as sawmills, wood pellets consist of highly compressed sawdust, ground wood chips and bark. The
wood's natural lignin, sometimes assisted by the addition of small amounts of maize starch, serves as a binding element to produce a small, dense pellet. No chemical binding additives are required.

The high density and low humidity content of wood pellets result in highly efficient combustion in specially designed or converted boilers or stoves. With an energy content comparable to that of high quality coal, wood pellets are a vital element in the global renewable energy industry, helping reduce our dependence on fossil fuels.

New Holmen Process Control Pellet Tester System NHP300

The New Holmen Process Control Pellet Tester System NHP300 is an in line pellet durability tester that can automatically produce Pellet Durability Index (PDI) test results of sample pellets taken directly from a transfer duct.

The NHP 300 performs Pellet Durability Index testing by propelling the pellets around the NHP300 Test
Hopper's internal perforated surfaces to induce physical degradation, thus simulating the environment to which finished pellets would be subjected in actual use. The PDI is calculated by comparing the percentage difference between the sample weight before the test with its weight after the test.

The fully automated, fast testing enables more frequent testing, which provides tighter quality control and increases test result repeatability.
