The British Refrigeration Association (BRA) is proud to be recognised as the largest and most affordable association within the refrigeration industry. We work across the whole sector representing manufacturers, importers, wholesalers and distributors, contractors specifiers and those who use refrigeration plant, equipment and components. Members also include makers of refrigerants and lubricant, as well as colleges and training establishments. Our continuing aim since we first formed as the Commercial Electric Refrigeration Association in 1940 is to act as a voice for all in the industry, promoting the interests of the refrigeration industry.
There are five specialist sections within BRA. The sections deal respectively with Cabinet and Coldstore, Contractors, Equipment and Components, Refrigeration End Users and Training. Meeting three or four times a year, the specialist sections learn about and discuss issues directly affecting their businesses.
Specifically BRA aims to promote the interests of its members, doing extensive public relations work, as well as facilitating exhibitions and promotions. We work to gain publicity for the industry and to highlight the products and services of our members. We liaise with government bodies regarding legislation, regulations and policies that affect our members. We undertake projects to improve trading conditions and opportunities both in the UK and abroad. Further, we coordinate market and technical research into matters of specific interest to our members.
Standards are of key importance to us and we encourage stellar levels of competence, and valuable training and education. We understand the importance of exceptional levels of competence and promote high standards of quality, design, safety and workmanship.
