The core of our services lies largely with materials testing and our engineers operate a range of equipment to meet the requirements of physical testing, chemical testing, specialist testing, compounds, and consultancy. Our physical testing facilities measure the physical properties of rubber compounds to ensure consistency of production, assess effects on the environment and assess changes in supply of raw material. Chemical testing is also largely required to assess raw materials, troubleshoot production problems, and assess service changes. Our specialist testing is designed to allow the generation of design data, evaluation of product functionality, fundamental measures of rheology, and dynamic evaluation of materials.

Our course in Rubber Compound Design has been created to provide an overview of compounding technology as well as information on basic rubber technology and compound design for dynamic applications, chemical resistance, improvements in processing, and durability. This training provides students and staff with knowledge of compound design and the development of a compound for a range of applications. The training also portrays the importance of the components within a compound mixture and debates the influence of the chemical, physical, and mechanical environments on the durability of the compound. Please contact us at ARTIS to find out more about our training course.

Our highly-skilled engineers operate in-house facilities for a range of standard tests for measuring the physical properties of rubber compounds. Our computer controlled tensile test machine with laser measuring facilities is used for testing stiffness and strength in tension, compression, shear or peel. We also carry out basic physical properties in our ozone cabinets, hot air ovens and chill cabinet. This enables us to test materials in a range of temperatures. We also use reflux condensing equipment to age at the boiling point of liquid, as well as to age under UV light, temperature and humidity in our QUV accelerated weathering tester.
