Company Description

GibbsCAM is the CAM industry's recognised ease-of-use leader, offering uncomplicated yet extremely powerful solutions for programming CNC machine tools. GibbsCAM is a state-of-the-art, PC-based, computer aided manufacturing system for programming numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools.

Easy to learn and efficient in use, GibbsCAM's intuitive graphical user interface is designed by machinists for machinists, making it familiar to users on the shop floor.

Supporting the full range of metal machine cutting machine tools - from basic milling and turning centers, rotary tables, 3- and 5-axis simultaneous milling machines, to complex multi-task machining tools and Wire-EDM devices, the GibbsCAM product family does it all. The base packages' capabilities can be extended seamlessly added modules.

Its signature ease-of-use, programming efficiency, speed and comparatively short training time means that GibbsCAM is the best tool for programming your machining appliances.

Production Machining

Production Milling: Supporting 2-axis to 3-axis machining of geometry and with full functionality for face milling, contouring, tapping, drilling, boring and pocketing with unlimited bosses/islands.

Production Turning: 2-axis machining of geometry with functionality for automatic roughing, contouring, drilling, threading, plunge roughing and tapping.

Advance Machining

Advanced CS: In addition to the default standard primary plane coordinate systems, Advanced CS supports defining local coordinate systems in any orientation.

Rotary Milling: Rotary milling supports machining geometry on rotary tables as an additional option to production milling. Geometry may either be radial or flat before wrapping.

4-Axis: GibbsCAM 4-Axis offers a rich programming environment for machining radially prismatic parts using an extensive set of parameters which support user control for 4-Axis rotary machining.

GibbsCAM 2.5D Solids

Solids Import: As the entry-level module of GibbsCAM’s solids-based machining capabilities, this supports importing and orienting solid models. Wireframe geometry is afterwards extracted for machining using Production Milling or Production Turning. Solids may be sliced to generate machineable geometry.

2.5D Solids: Supporting directly machining 2.5D solids, this is the mid-level module of GibbsCAM’s solid-based machining capabilities. Also provided is a basic solid modelling functionality to build models from scratch, alter existing models, or solidify surface models into solids.

3D Solids Machining

SolidSurfacer: SolidSurfacer provides advanced surface/solids modelling functionality and 3-axis multi-surface and solids machining - It is the most comprehensive of GibbsCAM's solid-based machining capabilities. Typically suited for mold cavities, dies, cores, aerospace, automotive and medical components.

Advanced 3D with High Speed Machining: Even when cutting hard materials, this provides the flexibility and power to meet the demands with optimized CNC programmes. It also improves the productivity of old CNC machines through reducing air cutting and creating smooth toolpaths which maintain continuous machine tool motion.
