Products

The Bendalloy Company supplies tube and section bending materials for use across a range of applications and industry sectors, including aerospace, motor sport, architectural construction and musical instrument manufacturing. We pride ourselves on our ability to react quickly to customer requirements, ensuring they get the materials they need exactly when they need them.

Our customers include manufacturers of bicycle frames, brass musical instruments and architectural framework, as well as a number of clients engaged in aerospace and motor sport activities. The materials we supply are also commonly used in lens grinding, machining and even radiotherapy.

More information on our materials can be found in the sections below and on the Bendalloy website. If you have any questions, would like place an order, or are interested in becoming a distributor, please get in touch on 01484 656111.

Polybend

The conventional tube bending materials such as bendalloy and cerrobend are gradually being replaced by Polybend. This is chiefly due to the influence of Health & Safety regulations, which consider as dangerous any alloys that contain lead and/or cadmium. Polybend is a white powder which, when melted, produces a litre of fluid per kilogram. It is water soluble, biodegradable and more economical to use than traditional materials. Plus it can be reused time and time again with only slight losses at each melting. Find out more about Polybend and its benefits by visiting The Bendalloy Company online – or simply give us a call on 01484 656111.

Alloys

The following is a list of low temperature bending alloys which can be supplied by The Bendalloy Company:

  • Bend Alloy – Used for bending rolled or extended sections and casting for reproduction of fine detail.
  • Cast Alloy – Used for reproducing machined moulds for electro plating, waveguide mandrels, and for the production of patterns for investment casting moulds.
  • Cerrobend – Used for tube bending and casting where fine detail is required.
  • Base Alloy – Used for tube bending up to 3 ½”, wave guide bending and proof casting.
  • Polybend – Used for bending tubes and sections in situations where it would be unsafe to use alloys containing cadmium, lead, bismuth, etc.
  • Fixturing Alloy – Used for making fixtures for support when machining fine walled and other delicate items.
  • Lens 117 Alloy – Used for holding plastic/glass lenses during grinding operations.
  • Lens 136 Alloy - Used for holding plastic/glass lenses during grinding operations. (Has a higher melting point than Lens 117 Alloy).
  • Bismuth – Used as a stabiliser for malleable iron or to improve nodule count in SG Iron.
  • Press (True) Alloy – Used for press sheet forming and holding parts during machining.

Melting Pots

The Bendalloy Company can also supply melting pots. These are available in a range of sizes and configurations, with steel or stainless steel liners. Melting pots supplied by the Bendalloy Company are designed for melting metal alloys, though they can also be used for melting candle wax and other such substances. All models can be temperature controlled using a simple thermostat. To find out more, head over to the Bendalloy website or get in touch on 01484 656111.

MSDS Sheets

We always recommend reading our Material Safety Data Sheets before using any of our alloys. On the Bendalloy website you will find Material Safety Data Sheets for each of the following materials:

  • Base Alloy
  • Bend Alloy
  • Cerrobend
  • Low 117 Alloy
  • Low 136 Alloy
  • Polybend
  • Safe Alloy
  • Tru and Cast Alloy
  • Zilt Sticks

MSDS sheets are available to download in PDF format.
