Products

We are an international leader in safety technology, providing complete hazard management solutions. Our Safety Division's products include gas and flame detection systems, firefighting equipment, respiratory protection, professional diving gear and instruments for drug and alcohol testing.

Our gas detection systems include both portable and stationary units, providing innovative, high quality solutions that offer cost-effective, reliable operation in industrial environments.

Three main sensor technologies are used in industrial gas detection applications: catalytic, electrochemical and infrared. As these technologies have different advantages in varying circumstances, we offer a range of sensors utilising them all. For example, over 200 flammable vapours and gases can be reliably detected with catalytic bead sensors, while our electrochemical sensors can be used in temperatures ranging from −40C to +65C. Infrared sensors offer durable design, minimal maintenance and stable measurement characteristics.

As well as gas detection systems, we also manufacture central controllers for gas detectors and flame detectors for detecting a range of fire types.

In addition to manufacturing sensors, gas and flame detection transmitters and controllers, our system engineers can design and provide complete safety-related gas detection systems. We offer consulting, needs analysis, planning services, documentation, SIL-evidence, installation, commissioning and maintenance, as well as training courses and seminars.

Toxic Gas Detectors

Dräger manufacture a comprehensive range of stationary and portable toxic gas and oxygen monitors. The Dräger Polytron 7000 is a modular, flexible, intrinsically safe gas detector that can detect over 100 different gases. The large graphic display clearly shows status information and guides the user through configuration and calibration. The Polytron 7000 can be used with Dräger or third-party control systems. Its remote sensor adaptor enables detection of gases in hard to reach places up to 30 metres away from the transmitter.

Other Dräger toxic gas detectors include the Dräger Polytron 3000, suitable for a wide range of applications in industries such as chemical or semiconductor, and the economical Dräger Polytron TX microprocessor-based explosion proof gas detector. A wide range of portable toxic gas detectors are also available.

Infrared Flammable Gas Detectors

The robust, explosion proof Dräger PIR 7000 point infrared gas detector is designed for continuous monitoring of flammable gases and vapours in the harshest industrial environments.

The PIR 7000's advanced 4-beam signal stability system is based on patented innovations and reflectors rather than light beam split. This optical system is extremely resistant towards fog, dust, insects or dirt accumulation, and the measuring signal is unaffected by partial beam block. As a result, the PIR 7000 has a drift-free signal output, longer service intervals and "no false alarms".

An internal gas library makes calibration simple regardless of the target gas, commonly available gas can be used for calibration and the target gas selected from the library via handheld terminal, the instrument then adjusts automatically to the characteristics of the target gas.

Together with worldwide approvals such as ATEX, GOST, UL, CSA the instrument is also SIL2 capable. With 4 to 20mA and HART outputs the PIR 7000 also features two response modes, "normal" and "high speed," that are client-configurable, giving the ability to detect leaks at their earliest stages.

Open Path Flammable Gas Detectors

The Dräger Pulsar 2 open path infrared gas detector, utilising the latest advances in open path technology, detects a range of gaseous hydrocarbons including the alkane series from methane to hexane as well as propylene, ethylene, methanol and ethanol.

Easy to install and commission, the Pulsar 2 requires no special training. The high performance unit is immune to outside influences such as gas flares, sunlight, arc welding, resonance, drizzle, mist or snow. Designed so that no fault remains undetected, the Pulsar 2 is suitable for use with SIL 2 systems.

The optional AI500 Digital Interface gives the operator access to configuration, measured values and logged data from a non-hazardous area via digital communication.

Catalytic Flammable Gas Detectors

The Dräger PEX 3000 explosion proof fixed gas detector transmitter with catalytic bead sensor is designed for continual monitoring of vapours and flammable gases in ambient air.

The special low drift sensor ensures detection of very low levels of gas concentrations, between 0 and 10% or 0 and 100% Lower Explosive Limit (LEL). This data is converted to a 4 to 20 mA industry standard signal and transmitted to a central controller such as the Dräger REGARD, which evaluates the signal and activates alarms and countermeasures automatically.

The Dräger PEX 3000 is easy to install, with a reliable and quick electrical connection created by three wire connections to the explosion-protected spring terminals.

CO2 Detection

The robust, explosion proof Dräger PIR 7200 point infrared gas detector is designed for continuous monitoring of Carbon Dioxide in the harshest industrial environments.

The PIR 7200's advanced 4-beam signal stability system is based on patented innovations and reflectors rather than light beam split. This optical system is extremely resistant towards fog, dust, insects or dirt accumulation, and the measuring signal is unaffected by partial beam block. As a result, the PIR 7200 has a drift-free signal output, longer service intervals and "no false alarms".

The PIR 7200 also features two response modes, "normal" and "high speed," that are client-configurable, giving the ability to detect leaks at their earliest stages.

Our Unique CCTV Flame Detecto

The Dräger Flame 5000 explosion proof flame detector uses live colour video images, digital signal processing and software algorithms that detect the characteristic properties of flames up to 44 metres away.

The unit has a built-in memory card that records before and after every alarm. It can be utilised as a stand-alone unit furnishing live video images, or integrated into a fire panel or control system.

Thanks to its advanced image processing algorithms, the Dräger Flame 5000 is SIL 2 Verified, having all but eliminated false alarms that can affect infrared or ultraviolet detectors.

The Flame 5000 has both PAL and NTSC video modes and has gained worldwide approvals including FM, CFM, ATEX, and IECEx.

Other Flame Detectors

The explosion-proof Dräger Flame 1300 is an infrared flame detector that detects fires from organic substances such as hydrocarbon fuels. The Flame 1300 is highly immune to false alarms and features an integral automatic self-test that can also be triggered manually.

The Dräger Flame 1700 explosion-proof ultraviolet flame detector is designed to detect fires in substances such as hydrogen, silicon hydride (silane) or metals that emit ultraviolet radiation.

The Dräger Flame 2300 explosion-proof combined ultraviolet/infrared flame detector is used to detect hydrocarbon-based fires with a very high level of false alarm immunity, as the detector requires both the IR and UV sensors to alarm before outputting an alarm condition.

Alarm Control Panels

The Dräger REGARD family of control systems are flexible, modular and fully configurable, with single-channel and multi-channel cards, input as well as relay modules and multiple communication options.

The standalone Dräger Regard 3900 autonomous control system is completely configurable and can be connected to up to 16 gas detectors to monitor concentrations of toxic or combustible gases, oxygen and vapours. Its IP65 enclosure keeps the unit dust-free and dry, allowing it to be installed virtually anywhere within a safe area.

The compact, cost-effective single-channel Dräger REGARD-1 is a standalone system designed to control a single gas detector. It is available with or without a gas level display.

Whatever your requirements, our experienced engineers can help design and install the ideal control system solution.
