Datum Electronics specialise in the design and manufacture of Rotary Torque Sensors and Rotary Torque Measurement solutions. The product range includes torque sensors from 1 Nm up to 500,000 Nm and installed shaft solutions for shafts from 5mm diameter up to 1100mm diameter as power and torque monitoring systems. 

As well as our standard ranges of transducers we offer a wide range of specialist modular solutions that can be cost effectively engineering to meet your requirements. The RS420 and FF420 ranges can be engineered to replace existing couplings and drive shafts within your test rig or machinery minimising any mechanical changes required.

Datum Electronics specialise in providing torque transducers, offering both standard torque sensors as well as custom built applications. Our torque transducers are non contact and transmit clean, reliable digital torque data.

We have our standard range of torque transducers which cater for a wide range of rated torque levels ranging from 5Nm; up to 500kNm (500,000Nm).

We also offer a range of torque instrumentation including hand-held indicators, traditional rack and wall mounted displays and we have developed TorqueLog software which displays torque, speed and power on either a PC or laptop via USB.

Other products include our Series 420 Marine Torsionmeter System which has been developed to monitor and control torque, speed and power on a ship shaft. This technology is also applicable to heavy industry and there is no real upper limit on the diameter of shaft. PTO or Power Take Off solutions are another product that we can offer. We have products for field testing or permanent installations giving power output and torque readings from all standard PTO shafts. 

Our bolt-on strain sensors have been developed to provide a rugged and robust production sensor with the benefits associated with a complex strain gauge installation. We also manufacture load cell amplifiers with both 0-10VDC and 4-20mA analogue outputs.
